I’ve been building synth modules for the ambulance for a little over a year with the intention of one day filling it up. I don’t have a plan or goal with what I’m building. It is all a learn as you go process…
My design isn’t just a drone synth. It does drone and sounds like a wash of noise when all 49 oscillators are running at different frequencies, but that gets boring pretty quick…
“Dead Bug” is a method of circuit building without a prefabbed circuit board. Sometimes the circuit is built without any board at all and constructed through direct connections, also known as “Point to Point.” In many cases an IC chip is turned upside down with its legs in the air, resembling a dead bug.
Two Casio keyboards were sent to us by one of our subscriber friends (@fakestereo). Of the two that were sent (batteries included), I chose the MT-68 as the first one to bend. In our last newsletter, we asked: “Will Z enhance the synth or destroy it?” The short answer is both.
Flutter has the Pittsburgh EP 360 case for her Eurorack system. It’s a beautiful case made of hardwood with a lid, and it’s convenient for road travel. Much more manageable than the wedgie cases I made last year.
We've been looking forward to Knobcon 2018 all year, and now we are less than two weeks away from the big weekend in Schaumburg, IL! It's the world's ONLY synthesizer convention.
This is a demo test just to make sure the thing doesn't break before we use it for Zetsumetsu. But this is what I do. I make stuff. I break stuff. I make new stuff.
